The Start of the NFL Season

The 2022 NFL regular season has officially begun. The season-opening game was with the defending Super Bowl Champion, Los Angeles Rams, face off against the Buffalo Bills. It had been seven months since the Rams played on their home field where they won Super Bowl 56. For the Buffalo Bills, this will hopefully be a redemptive season after their horrific game-winning touchdown loss against the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Division overtime game.

The off-season brought upgrades to both teams. The Rams signed wide receiver, Allen Robinson and linebacker, Bobby Wagner. The Bills signed former Rams outside linebacker, Von Miller and extended the contracts of several offensive and defensive players.

The Bills dominated the Rams and won the game 31-10. Their quarterback, Josh Allen, had a terrific game, as he had 26/31 completions and threw three touchdowns, while wide receiver Stefon Diggs led the Bills with eight receptions along with 122 yards and a touchdown.

For the losing Rams, quarterback Matthew Stafford had 29/41 completions, one touchdown, and three interceptions. Cornerback Jalen Ramsey gave up six receptions for 124 yards and two touchdowns. After the loss, Rams head coach Sean McVay blamed himself for the loss. In his interview with ESPN, he said, "When you look at a lot of the ways that this game unfolded, [I] feel a huge sense of responsibility to this team," McVay said. "We weren't ready to go. I take a lot of pride in that, and that's on me. I've got to do better. There were a lot of decisions that I made that I felt like didn't put our players in good enough spots. "So, it was a humbling experience, but we're going to stay connected. We're going to all look inward. We're going to do a better job moving forward."

This is only week one, and there are still seventeen more weeks left of Football. If the results of the Rams-Bills game are any indication of what the season will look like, Football fans are in for an exciting and surprising season.
